The big move to the Judicial Center

When the move was made from the “Old Courthouse” to the new “Judicial Center” here in Wake County, the powers that be tried to make things a bit more efficient for everyone who comes through those doors to deal with a traffic or criminal case (which is what there is in the judicial center, the “old court house” now being used solely for civil matters). In addition to installing new elevators and escalators, which make moving around a lot easier, there are also TV screen type monitors outside each court room to tell you what cases are set there during the morning and afternoon sessions. Now, instead of having the wake county court calendars posted outside of each court room on a bulletin board, as they had been for many many years, to find what case is in a court room, you just have to look at the monitor and watch until your name scrolls by.
Now, even though the Wake County Court Calendars are displayed electronically it still doesn’t mean that all problems have been solved. Suppose you live miles and miles away. It would probably be a good idea to know what’s on the Wake County Court Calendar BEFORE you make the trip, right? Since sometimes cases that are supposed to be in court are mis-calendared and NOT set then. There are basically two ways to do this: The first is you can go to the website maintained by the NC AOC (administrative office of the courts). There you can find the Wake County Court Calendars for all sessions.

Locate your own case, or someone else’s case

There is another way however: Just go to and you can locate your own case, OR ANYONE’S, just by entering in some info like name or citation number. It would probably be a good idea to check either site before making the drive in to court since, as I say, errors are often made. Finding your case on the Wake County Court Calendar through does have a distinct advantage, however, since if you are also looking for a lawyer to handle your case, if you find your case on our site, it takes just one click to have it post to the site and have lawyers start contacting YOU to handle it. That’s a helluva lot better than AOC’s Wake County Court Calendar, IMHO. Give it a try, it’s free.  Click the button below to search for your court case.
